The boats are designed to be easy to handle, making this activity suitable for beginners as well as those with previous boating experience. No boating licence is required.
Once you're on the water, you're free to explore within the designated navigation area. Cruise between Terryglass and Portumna, stop to admire the surrounding landscapes, enjoy a picnic on board or simply unwind as you take in the tranquil atmosphere of one of Ireland's largest lakes.

Arrive at your selected departure point in either Terryglass or Portumna approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
Safety Briefing
Meet your instructor for a full safety and navigation briefing, including instructions on operating the boat and guidance on where you can safely travel during your rental.
Your Self-Drive Adventure
Take control of your private boat and spend approximately 90 minutes exploring Lough Derg. Cruise between the harbours, enjoy the scenery, take photographs or simply relax on the water at your own pace.
Return
Return the boat to your original departure location at the end of your allocated hire period.
